Technogym secures Newcastle University partnership |
Technogym has been appointed as the official fitness equipment supplier to Newcastle University. The deal will see Newcastle University begin using the Technogym's Excite line of equipment, which offers a fully-connected cardio experience. The equipment utilises the Unity platform, which allows gym users to access engaging digital experiences and personal content – such as Netflix and BBC iPlayer – at any time during their training session. A new digital journey – thanks to the Technogym mywellness ecosystem – will also be introduced as part of the fitness element. Stephen Barton, Technogym MD, said: "Newcastle University's vision to support students and staff members in finding their passion for fitness is a goal that aligns perfectly with the values held by Technogym. "We look forward to collaborating throughout the partnership and playing a key part in making their vision a reality”. Newcastle University is part of the Russell Group of universities and is "dedicated to providing its students with a wide range of opportunities to take part in sport and fitness". Colin Blackburn, the university's director of sports services, added: "Technogym have not only demonstrated that they had an outstanding range of ergonomically designed equipment but also a user friendly digital platform designed to engage and inform our students including the option to upload their own personal content to make each workout unique, enjoyable and fun".
